President Qiu Xianqing Received a Visit from University of Toronto Press
On June 18th, 2024, QIU Xianqing, the President of Tsinghua University Press (TUP), warmly received a delegation from University of Toronto Press (UTP) led by its President, Jessica Mosher, accompanied by Antonia Pop, the Vice President. Attending the meeting from TUP were SUN Yu, Deputy General Editor, LAI Wenqiong, Director of International Cooperation Department, LIANG Fei, Deputy Director of Academic Publishing Center, along with editors representing the Management, Humanities and Social Sciences Branches and the Journal Center.
QIU Xianqing initiated the meeting with a cordial welcome to the guests from UTP, highlighting TUP’s successful introduction of Canadian classic works and their far-reaching influence in China. He expressed TUP’s keen interest in forging a deeper collaboration with their Canadian counterpart, envisioning joint efforts to showcase the scholarly of Chinese scholars globally, while concurrently importing premium academic content from the University of Toronto Press to enhance the scope and depth of domestic research, thereby promoting the exchange and integration between the East and the West.
Jessica Mosher reciprocated by offering insights into the University of Toronto’s operational standing and its esteemed reputation. She delved further into the operational breadth and specialized portfolios of the University of Toronto Press. Subsequently, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on copyright trade, book export and journal partnerships.
