“Biosafety and Bioresource Capacity System Building Series” Sponsored by the National Publishing Fund Unveiled
On June 1, 2024, the book launch of Biosafety and Bioresource Capacity System Building Series sponsored by the National Publishing Fund took place in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed experts and dignitaries, notably including Professor Zhan Qimin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Li Guanglin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Wu Guizhen, Chief Editor of the Series and Director of the Biosafety Branch at the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and Dr. Wei Qiang, also a Chief Editor for the series and the Director of the National Pathogenic Micro-organism Resource Bank. Sun Yu, Deputy General Editor of Tsinghua University Press (TUP), attended the meeting online.

In her address, Sun Yu first expressed her sincere gratitude to the experts who compiled the series and friends instrumental in supporting the development of TUP. She said “Biosafety and Bioresource Capacity System Building Series” was the first systematic publication in China to integrate biosafety and biological resources, providing a strong foundation for advancing biological preservation technology, biosafety technology and the construction of China’s biosafety system. It plays a crucial role in establishing a global health community. TUP is committed to disseminating advanced culture and promoting social progress, and has published a large number of leading academic publications and top periodicals with high social benefits and international reputation. Building on the strength of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua University Press, the Life Sciences and Medicine Branch of TUP has systemically developed a business paradigm centered around a synergy of“book-journal integration”, alongside instituting a medical education and training platform and fostering an international collaboration network for scholars both at home and abroad. Looking ahead, TUP is resolute in intensifying its endeavors within the public health sphere, pledging to bring forth additional exemplary publications. This series consists of three volumes: Preservation and Identification Technology of Pathogenic Microorganism, Preservation Catalogue of National Pathogenic Microorganism Resource Database and Laboratory Biosafety Capacity Building, which systematically studies and summarizes related issues of pathogenic microbial resources and laboratory biosafety in China.
