The Launch Ceremony of Health Engineering Held In Shenzhen
On July 13, 2024, the launch ceremony of the multidisciplinary international academic journal Health Engineering took place during the opening of the 2024 International Forum on Advanced Health Engineering. Notable attendees included WU Xiaofeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, MA Lan, Vice Dean of Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Peter E. Lobie, Editor-in-Chief of the journal, XING Xinhui, Professor and Deputy Director of the Institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering (iBHE) at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS).
The meeting was presided over by Professor XING Xinhui, who provided an overview of the development of iBHE, emphasizing that since its establishment in 2019, the institute has published over 500 high-impact papers. iBHE has organized over 200 academic and industrial exchanges in the past five years and established more than 50 cooperation and exchange mechanisms with domestic and international research institutions and enterprises. He highlighted the establishment of Health Engineering as a key initiative in promoting high-quality, rapid development, and international collaboration within the field of health engineering.
Professor Peter E. Lobie introduced the journal's founding background. The journal aims to present cutting-edge research across all engineering disciplines related to health and disease, embracing both theoretical and experimental studies, and catering to interdisciplinary communities including chemists, engineers, physicists, biologists, biomedical scientists/physicians. The inaugural editorial board comprises 14 scholars from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and other countries.
Sponsored by Tsinghua University, academically supported by iBHE, and published by Tsinghua University Press, Health Engineering is a high-quality, open-access, multidisciplinary journal independently distributed on the international publishing platform--SciOpen. It is now open for submissions and will be officially launched in July 2024.
